The Nature Conservancy is seeking a highly experienced Implementation Portfolio Lead to join its Global Protect Oceans, Lands, and Waters team.

Location: Remote (preferably within countries where TNC has an established office)

This strategic leadership role involves overseeing the development and execution of conservation projects within TNC’s Nature Bonds and Project Finance for Permanence (PFP) programs.
Salary Range: €86,000 – €124,000 per year (or local currency equivalent)

The successful candidate will play a key role in driving innovative financial mechanisms to secure sustainable funding for global conservation efforts, climate mitigation, and economic development.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide strategic oversight and leadership in developing and implementing project portfolios
- Coordinate with regional and country teams, as well as internal and external stakeholders
- Drive risk assessments, tracking, reporting, and documentation of project progress
- Oversee monitoring, evaluation, and reporting frameworks, supervising MEL specialists
Facilitate capacity development and knowledge transfer across diverse teams
- Act as a liaison between various project teams, legal, finance, and external partners
- Advise on communications and advocacy efforts to reflect project impacts accurately
- BA/BS degree and 10+ years in conservation practice or equivalent experience
- Proven experience managing large, strategic programs or projects
- Strong leadership skills with experience supervising diverse teams
- Expertise in partnership development with NGOs, governments, and community groups
- Experience in conservation policy development and financial management
- Multilingual and cross-cultural experience
- 10-12 years of relevant conservation experience
- Familiarity with Conservation Trust Funds and innovative financial mechanisms
- Skills in monitoring, evaluation, and reporting
- Excellent communication skills in English and other languages
